Caitlin and Taylor live in BC and were, and still are, planning a lovely June wedding. But, as it often does, life throws a a curve ball and they were left unsure that Dad would be able to travel from his home in Niagara come June. So, pivot. Hope you're not all too tired of that word by now.
Obviously it was so important to Caitlin to walk down the isle with her Dad and so she made sure that that is exactly what would happen. And here, wedding number one of two was born.
They planned a small, elopement style wedding at Queens Royal park in Niagara on the lake, not far from Dads home. Surrounded by just immediate family and few very close family friends (including my in laws) they said I do. And it was so very beautiful and emotional.
It was also windy. Very, very windy and unseasonably cold for early October. Just another minor curve ball this time. We were meant to do some family photos at the park and Caitlin and Taylors wedding photos along the shoreline, but, I very quickly made the call to move us all a bit more inland, away from the cold winds coming in off Lake Ontario. So, the lovely newlyweds and I headed in the opposite direction of the lake and wandered around old town Niagara on the lake for some casual images of them enjoying their first hour as Mr. & Mrs and then finished up with some family photos back at Caitlins Dad and Step Moms place close by.
And oh my goodness...Caitlins Step Mom put on such a beautiful, intimate reception back at the house with signature cocktails, a private chef and and a gorgeous dinner set up in a cosy, heated tent in the back yard. Talk about making the best of things.
All the very best wishes to Caitlin and Taylor on wedding number 2 and the amazing life you will create together.
